Nearly a century ago, this land produced tears and blood. Now it offers a product whose bubbles are a hallmark of cheerfulness and friendliness, embodying life’s revenge on death, along a path of brotherhood and peace.

Mount Calvario was the stage to one of the most tragic and epic events in World War I on the Italian front line: the battle of Podgora of July 19th 1915 at level 240 of “Mount Podgora”, i.e. the Slovenian name for Piedimonte del Calvario, now a territory comprised in the municipality of Gorizia.
